To
decide further programmes of struggles against anti-labour policies of the
Government :
Decisions of Central Trade
Union Organisations Meeting held on 8.7.2013
CTUOs in their meeting held on 8.7.2013
expressed displeasure against the Government not honouring its assurance given
through Group of Ministers for continuing the dialogue for finding out solution
to pending demands of the workers. The
workers observed two days All India Strike on 20-21 February, 2013. The Group of Ministers in their last meeting
with CTUOs on 22nd May, 2013 had sought one month’s time to work out
financial impact of these demands in order to facilitate concrete solution to
these issues.
Joint Action Programme decided to
intensify the movement as under :
a) To hold National
Convention of Workers on 6th
August, 2013 in Mavlankar Hall, New
Delhi. Leaders of major unions
affiliated to CTUOs as well as representatives of affiliated and independent
employees / workers federations will participate in the National Convention to
discuss and decide on dates and form of action programme on:-
1. District level Rallies
/ Dharnas / Satyagraha and State level Rallies on State Capitals in 2nd half of September, 2013.
2. Massive Rally (March
to Parliament) in Delhi in December,
2013.
3. Sectoral actions for effectively protesting against Government decision
of restructuring, outsourcing and disinvestment of PSUs and other demands.
4. Separate Action
Programme on Contract Labour & Minimum Wage to be further discussed.
b) Specific dates for the above programmes as outlined in
para (a) above by the Technical Committee in consultation with others for
placing these before the Convention for approval.
c) It was decided to have a meeting with the Labour Minister
to apprise him about workers unhappiness over government apathy.
d) It was also decided to make an appeal to all independent
employees / workers federations and unions to participate in the Convention on
6.8.2013 in Delhi.
