Dear Comrades,

UFBU’s call for All India Strike on 7^th July

It is just 30 days before we go to the field to observe the UFBU’s All India Bank Strike on the 7^th July, 2011 against the increasing attacks on the banking industry, our jobs and job security, intensified attempts to outsource our jobs, attempts to foist the anti-employee Khandelwal Committee recommendations, criminal delay in implementing the revised scheme on compassionate appointment / financial compensation scheme finalised in February, 2009, non-settlement of our pending demands, etc. 

Needless to emphasise that the attacks are getting aggravated day by day.  Recently there is a report that a Working Group has been set up under Mr. Prabhat Chaturvedi, Labour Secretary and 43 central labour laws are under its scrutiny either to repeal or change them to “keep pace with India’s new industrial realities”.   Similarly, there are continuous efforts to implement the Khandelwal Committee recommendations.  Hence all-out efforts must be taken by all our units to implement the programmes successfully.

As per the programme given by UFBU, mass memorandum should be signed by all employees in all branches/offices and submitted to the Branch Manager/RM/ZM/DM, etc. in the respective offices before 15-6-2011.  Similarly a Memorandum should be submitted to CMD/EDs of respective Banks by the leaders of the constituent unions.

TO CONSTITUENT UNIONS :-

Dear Comrades,

7^th July Strike

We are sure that by now all our unions have informed their base units and members about the UFBU’s call for All India Strike on 7^th July, 2011 as per the declaration adopted in our UFBU’s national Convention held at Delhi on 20-5-2011.  We are also sure that all our unions are taking necessary steps to mobilize the members for the successful participation in the Strike on 7^th July.

Specimen of Badge and Poster have been sent already and they need to be got printed and supplied to all our Branch Units. ( Badge wearing on 30-6-2011)

Branch level Memorandum: As part of the preparatory programme, mass memorandum has to be submitted to all the Branch Managers/Office In-charges.  The draft of the Memorandum is furnished herein.  It must be ensured that this draft is provided to all branch units and the memorandum should be got signed by all the employees and officers in every branch/office and submitted to the respective Manager/In-charge before 15-6-2011.  Copy of this memorandum should be sent to UFBU.

Memorandum to CMDs:  Similarly, in each Bank, the leaders of the constituent unions in the respective Banks should submit this memorandum jointly to the CMD/MD/CEO/GM-HRD, etc. This should be done before 20-6-2011.

Demonstrations:  Demonstrations should be held in all centres/towns between 20^th and 25^th June, 2011. Local UFBU representatives should ensure this programme.
