v People’s Petition to Prime
Minister
Units are aware that our National Organisation, AIBEA has given a
call for All India Campaign Programme for a people oriented Banking Policies
and to put a stop to the unwarranted Banking Sector Reforms. Accordingly, a
programme has been launched, seeking people support and mobilization of one
crore signature in a Petition to the Prime Minister of the country, from 20th April, 2015 to 31st
May, 2015.
In our State, the national campaign programme of AIBEA has
commenced with a big-bang on 20th
April, 2015 at Chennai, coinciding with the 70th Founding Day
Celebrations of AIBEA. Com. R. Nallakannu, Veteran Freedom Fighter and Senior
Communist Leader of CPI has signed the first Petition to the Prime Minister,
giving a fillip to the campaign in our State. Com. T.M. Murthy, State
Secretary, AITUC-TN has also signed the Petition expressing the support and solidarity
of AITUC-TN.
All our affiliated units are requested to commence the campaign in
right earnest and move in actively for mobilization of peoples’ support. We
should seek the support from all Political Parties and their Leaders in our
State, Members of Parliament from Tamil Nadu, MLAs (both Ruling and Opposition
Parties) support of the Central Trade Unions and their State Level Units,
Independent All India Trade Union Federations on Sector-wise, Important
Personalities in the Society belonging to the people from walks of life, professionals
like Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers and support of the Trade and Business
Community etc. We should also solicit the support of the top level Bank
Executives and Officers, Board level Members and other Bank-wise Units and Associations,
including that of UFBU at apex level and State level.
All our District and Town Organisations, including Bank-wise Unions
should convene their respective committees and chalk out their proper action
plan to achieve the targets. We have printed adequate number of Petitions, both in Tamil and English and the same will be
supplied to all the units on request. All the Petitions with signatures should
be duly numbered, preserved and then forwarded to our Federation in a separate
cover. This is very much important. Units are advised to keep us informed about
the progress made in our campaign on a weekly basis without fail.
Comrades, time at our disposals is quite short. But the task is
huge and responsibility is onerous. In the past we have done it. Now also, we
shall do it. Let us move on from now onwards. Plunge into action and make the
National Campaign of AIBEA demanding Pro-people Banking Policies to make India
a Vibrant Country, become a true and meaningful success through our collective
efforts.
