3rd Nov. 2012 – 90th Birthday of Com H L Parvana

3rd November this year will mark the 90th birthday of our beloved and jewel leader Com H L Parvana. On this day we shall recall and remember him to pay our homage to him. In the history of AIBEA, the contributions of Com Parvana are embedded in glittering gold. He was a leader par excellence and his life was a saga of sacrifice for the cause of AIBEA because he literally dedicated his entire life for the emancipation of bank employees who were suffering from exploitations, denials, deprivations and humilations. He was uniquely rare and special.

Com Parvana used to say that he was drawn into trade union movement during his younger age due to the inspiration he got by observing the struggles of the workers. But his life, his matchless leadership, his clarity and vision became the inspiration for thousands of bank employees who became cadres and leaders of our movement. Such was his amazing and awesome leadership qualities. The very name of Com Parvana used to electrify the bank employees of his times.

Com. Parvana was a complete leader. He taught us every aspect of organistion - how to organise, how to mobilise, how to fight, how to settle and how to move forward. He used to emphasise that bank employees and AIBEA should be an inseparable part of the general trade union movement. His teachings are more relevant today when the Government is aggressive in favouring the corporate sector at the cost of the general masses and labour-class.

When we remember him and pay our respectful homage to him, let us take a pledge to emulate him, follow his foot-steps and build the AIBEA of his dreams.
