AIBEA PROTESTS HIKE IN DIESEL PRICE:
All India Bank Employees Association condemns the steep hike of the diesel prices by the Government of India. This hike will have all-out bearing on prices of all essential commodities, food grains, and will result in hike in charges of public transport and make the life of the common people more miserable. We demand of the Government to roll back the increased prices on diesel.
We also oppose the Government’s decision to limit the supply of cooking gas to six cylinders per year for a family and doubling the price of additional cylinders. This reflects the insensitivity of the Government to the problems of the poor people and the salaries middle class. This additional burden due to compulsion to buy cylinders at market price will have an adverse effect on the already ballooning monthly expenditure budget of the rural and urban poor as well as of the salaried class.
These decisions are anti-people, anti-workers and anti-middle class sections of the people. We demand of the Government to withdraw these decisions.
We call upon our members to participate in all the protest rallies, demonstrations, etc. that are being organised by the local trade unions in the various places.
