Kochi: The Kerala High court in an observation on price rise on Friday said that the people of the country should react against the frequent price rise by the government.

 The high court observed that price rise is equivalent to slow death and that people should come to the fore rather than waiting for political parties to do so.
"Price rise is equivalent to slow death. People of the country should come to the fore rather than political parties," the court said.

Oil companies brought yet another steep hike in petrol price, by Rs 1.80 per litre with effect from Thursday midnight making life more difficult for the common man. This is the fifth increase since December 2010 coming on top of falling rupee and rising cost of imported crude.
